VALERYE HIDALGO GARCIA

Acts of Care

Mother,

I see the sawdust lining the floor of the barn.

The teeth of the fawn loose,

speckled tongue building a home.

I want to be loved and tender like a fool, mother.

Tell me the story of when the creator loved the creature so much,

it walked on all fours.
